Biography

For as long as she can remember, Beth Ravitz has been fascinated with large scale and bold colors.  She is a multidimensional Public Artist working with ceramic, glass, metal, sculpture, printing and painting.  She is fearless in her ability to master a new technique and medium.  She has been engaging and collaborating with communities to transform public spaces into functional and aesthetically beautiful works of art for the past 20 years.  

Beth has helped obtain public art ordinances, written master plans, chaired public art committees and consulted for several cities, as well as, created over 20 public art projects throughout Florida and the United States. She is a 3 time Grant recipient from the Broward County Art in Education program, an adjunct professor, gallery director, fine artist, and consultant for the City of Lauderhill, FL since 2008. 

Beth Ravitz was born and raised in New York.  She received a B.A. in Liberal Arts from the University of Miami and created and owned a textile design and converting business in NYC before moving to South Florida where she earned B.F.A. and M.F.A. degrees.  Shortly after, she began to translate her art and business expertise into a multi faceted art career.   Beth continues to live in South Florida, enjoying the diverse cultural aspects of the area and all it embraces.
